Hey, how's it going?
Today is a cleanse day for me, so I thought "what better way to spend it than to write an article about it"?
If you would have told me to fast a year ago, I probably would have laughed at you. Until I got more into health + wellness, I had no idea how much of a positive addition fasting is to your health.
Essentially, fasting is when you abstain from food. In my case, I do either four single cleanse days a month (usually every Wednesday) or two double cleanse days a month (every other Wednesday and Thursday).
As many of you may know, heart disease is one of the world's leading causes of death. Many highly respected studies have concluded that fasting leads to lowering your risk of coronary heart disease as well as helps lower blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol levels. There is also extensive evidence to prove that fasting at least one day of the month can dramatically improve your immune system’s white blood cell count and your digestive health.
Do you deal with any allergies, sensitivities or intolerances? Fasting can effectively treat the root causes of food intolerances and sensitivities while lessening the symptoms of true allergies over time. Check out this article if you are dealing with any intolerances- it highlights how beneficial fasting truly is.
Fasting promotes blood sugar control by reducing insulin resistance. This is very beneficial and can actually help prevent diabetes. It also has been scientifically proven to fight inflammation which has been linked to the development of chronic conditions, such as heart disease, cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. It has also been linked to increasing levels of human growth hormone (HGH) which plays an important role in growth, metabolism, muscle strength and weight loss.
If you want more apparent results, two day fasts are very effective and actually sends your body into ketosis (when your body starts burning your fat as fuel). The second day of fasting is also much easier than the first, which is why I often elect to do two double cleanse days instead of four single cleanse days per month. After 36 hours of fasting, autophagy begins. Autophagy is a process that destroys old damaged cells and replaces them with new ones, it is your body healing itself. Animals do this all the time, when they begin to feel off, they fast. There are so many benefits to this!
Whether you're looking to gain muscle, lose weight, gain mental clarity, fasting will help you with that. It is great for every health goal.
To be very clear, I in no way promote starving yourself or regular and extreme restriction. If you have a history of eating disorders be very cautious. If you're dealing with any health conditions that may be affected by fasting consult your doctor first. Fasting has to be done properly. Supported cleanses are so important! To do this I use a life-changing product called 'Cleanse for Life'.
Unlike laxatives and other cleansing products, Cleanse for Life has vitamins and minerals to nourish the body and promote better health. When you fast and begin to lose fat, all of the toxins stored in your fat actually leaches into your organs. For this reason, it is very difficult to lose stubborn fat. Your fat acts as a barrier and your body will not release it all until the toxins are flushed out. It is really important to cleanse out those toxins while you're fasting, which Cleanse for Life does.
I drink Cleanse for Life every morning even when I am not fasting because:
The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it contains nourishes the body and promotes better health
The antioxidant botanicals support a healthy cardiovascular system
It supports mental clarity
Cleansing toxins daily keeps my skin clear
The best part about this cleanse program? You can have snacks on it! Including chocolate! What other cleanse isn't a laxative and allows you to still eat... and eat chocolate?
If you have any more questions about fasting, Cleanse for Life, or the cleanse program I use, please send me a message on here or to travelwithellis@gmail.com!
It has truly changed my life and I would love to help it change yours too.
Thank you for reading, talk to you soon!
